Real-World Experience

During Motion Amplification® training, you'll have an opportunity to hone your skills using real equipment. After earning a certification, you'll be ready to head back to your organization ready to go. Here are some examples of videos certified analysts have made after attending training.

Basic Training Overview

Arrival Time

Basic training is a three-day class. Please arrive between 8:00 and 8:30 a.m. each day. If you are departing from Knoxville (TYS) Airport, please schedule your return flight no earlier than 5:30 PM on the final day of class.

What to Bring

We will use the complete Iris M™ Motion Amplification® system. If we have already shipped your system, then you will need to either have it shipped here prior to the class, or you will need to bring it with you to the class. If you are picking up your new system here, then you will not need to bring any equipment. For students traveling from outside the United States, we may be able to supply an Iris M system for your use during the class. Please contact RDI Training Department (+1 865-210-3641) to confirm equipment availability for your class dates.

Dress Code

Please wear long pants and closed-toe shoes for the second day of class, as we will go into the field for some real-world experience. We will provide safety glasses and hearing protection.

Lunch will be provided at the facility along with coffee, soft drinks, bottled water, and snacks. We will also invite you to be our guest for dinner following the second day of class.

Advanced Training Overview

What You’ll Learn

During the Basic Iris M™ Certification Training, you learned the basics of how to acquire Motion Amplification® data and how to use the Motion Amplification® Application to analyze data and create videos. You’ve had some time to use the system on your own and now you’re ready to take your skills to the next level.

RDI’s Advanced Motion Amplification® Training helps students cross the gap between knowing simply how to use the basic components of the system, to actually solving problems related to structures, rotating machinery, and piping.

Learn Advanced Motion Amplification® analysis techniques to help make you a more successful Motion Amplification® Analyst. Over two days our experienced instructors will cover the following:

  • Identifying Common Machinery Faults with Motion Amplification®
  • Advanced Signal Processing
  • Advanced Data Collection
  • Resonance Testing
  • Piping and Pipe Support Analysis
  • Rotating Component Inspection
  • High-Density Recording
  • Using Motion Studio™ for Professional Results
  • Anti-Aliasing Techniques

Advanced Motion Amplification® Training Requirements
