Real-World Experience

During Motion Amplification® training, you'll have an opportunity to hone your skills using real equipment. After earning a certification, you'll be ready to head back to your organization ready to go. Here are some examples of videos certified analysts have made after attending training.

Introduction to Vibration Analysis

Chris Wills, Director of Training for RDI Technologies, takes you through an Introduction to Vibration Analysis. While it is not a requirement to have vibration experience for our Level 1 Motion Amplification® class, we do recommend watching this video for a basic understanding of vibration terms. This will help you create a better understanding of how Motion Amplification amplifies your ability to perform vibration analysis and get the most out of your training.

I believe this is one of the best trainings there are to any available technology. The hospitality from the RDI team was exquisite, and the helpfulness is off the chart amazing. I can’t wait to attend the Advanced Training!

This course was quite fascinating. Joel did a great job- he had a perfect pace. He knew the contents and conveyed them well. He also knew when to pause and how to help and is a great instructor. He always helped keep a nice atmosphere, adding humor and getting our attention. Our dinner was fantastic and complemented the whole experience by allowing great interaction and information exchange. The test was challenging, but we had the knowledge acquired in training to complete it.
Russell Post, Essex Furukawa
The instructor made the class very engaging, fun, and educational. The class exceeded my expectations through extensive content, advice, and information.
Joseph Ashe, Hobgood Electric
Our instructor was great. A class that seemed a little overwhelming at first, but Scott made it easy by the end. I've done many on-site trainings, but this one is more challenging and fun. I'm excited to have this new training in my arsenal of tools for the reliability and maintenance of our equipment here at Compass Minerals. Thank you for your time. It was fun!
Jeremy Finn, Compass Minerals
Over the years, I have taken many classes, but I have met very few instructors with an exceptional passion for teaching, like Darin. He delivered this training with love and a wealth of knowledge like a true professional. I'm very thankful and happy that he was our trainer, and I'm already looking forward to taking the Advanced training class in the near future. The whole RDI team was fantastic and very welcoming, so thank you for the hospitality.
Bojan Frljanic, PGT, Inc.
I only have compliments. RDI is a great company, well organized, has well-trained employees, and is the most kind!! Joel is the best. I have learned a lot. The way he gives the class may be a lesson for the common teacher! Thank you, Joel, and thank you, RDI.

Advanced Training Overview

What You’ll Learn

During the Basic Iris M™ Certification Training, you learned the basics of how to acquire Motion Amplification® data and how to use the Motion Amplification application to analyze data and create videos. You’ve had some time to use the system on your own, and now you’re ready to take your skills to the next level.

RDI’s Advanced Motion Amplification Training helps students cross the gap between knowing simply how to use the basic components of the system to actually solving problems related to structures, rotating machinery, and piping.

Learn Advanced Motion Amplification analysis techniques to help make you a more successful Motion Amplification Analyst. Over three days our experienced instructors will cover the following:

  • Identifying Common Machinery Faults with Motion Amplification
  • Advanced Signal Processing
  • Advanced Data Collection
  • Resonance Testing
  • Piping and Pipe Support Analysis
  • Rotating Component Inspection
  • High-Density Recording
  • Using Motion Studio™ for Professional Results
  • Anti-Aliasing Techniques
  • Transient Analysis
  • Presentation of Motion Amplification Case Histories

Receive Professional Advice

Are you currently dealing with a mechanical or structural issue? Bring your own data to share with the class and our experienced instructors will offer professional insight about possible problems and solutions.

Advanced Motion Amplification® Training Requirements

  • Students must have already taken the Basic Motion Amplification Certification Course and passed the Level I Motion Amplification Certification test.
  • Students should bring their own acquisition unit with at least 50 GB of free storage space to the class.
  • Although it is not a technical prerequisite for taking the class, it is highly recommended that students be Category I certified in vibration analysis before attending.
