SICB Annual Meeting 2024

January 2, 2024 - January 6, 2024

The mission of the Society for Integrative and Comparative Biology (SICB) is to foster research, education, public awareness and understanding of living organisms from molecules and cells to ecology and evolution. SICB encourages interdisciplinary cooperative research that integrates across scales, and new models and methodologies to enhance research and education.

With over 2000 presentations, 15 workshops, and a battery of world class symposia, SICB 2024 will be largest SICB meeting on record!

In 2000, SICB became the first professional organization for the integrative study of evolutionary and developmental biology, or Evo-devo. This year, Evo-devo will be a special area of focus for the meeting. This is, in part, highlighted by the symposium Chordate Origins, Evolution and Development organized by Billie Swalla. We will also host an exciting evening plenary by Dr. Matthew Harris. Utilizing diverse vertebrate systems, Dr. Harris’ research has spanned areas ranging from the vertebrate transition onto land, adaptation into extreme habitats, the regulation of aging and lifespan, and the regulation of size and body proportion among many others. Look for upcoming announcements about more Evo-devo programming in coming months.
